Ranked No.1 in the ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ list and with three Michelin stars, the elegant restaurant Eleven Madison Park is located in the heart of New York City. Run by chef Daniel Humm the restaurant serves an eight course tasting menu including dishes such as mushroom carpaccio, foie gras two ways or lobster with potato and chanterelles. The dishes are highly minimal, and artistic with often an element of theater added in, and the restaurant prides itself on giving all guests a different experience suited to their needs. The restaurant offers three private dining spaces available for 18, 34 and 50 which can also be booked altogether for larger events.
The Shed offers an intimate private dining space for nine guests by the renowned Tom Kerridge and Hand and Flowers Team. The space gives guests an amazing chance to see the magic happen with the chefs preparing the menu directly in front of them. They can sample delights such as Cornish mackerel with apple pancake, dill, crème fraîche and avruga caviar or smoked lamb shoulder with pomme boulangère and salsa verde.
Set in a stunning location on the French Riviera, this double Michelin star restaurant is run by the very talented Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco. The restaurant is spread over three levels on the hillside with panoramic views of the sea. The menu draws on Mauro’s roots of Argentina plus local influences of the sea, mountains and fruits and vegetables from his own garden. Diners can expect flavorsome products including monkfish with topinambur puree and Piedmont hazelnuts, or anchovy fillets on fried anchovy skeletons with juice from Menton’s famous lemons. The restaurants signature dish is oyster with tapioca, shallot cream and pear and is as pretty as it is tasty. For events, the entire Mirazur restaurant can be booked with use of all three levels including the veranda, lounge bar and garden terrace.
Whilst Copenhagen fine-dining makes us automatically think of the recently re-opened Noma, Geranium has been stealing some of their limelight recently overtaking Noma’s Michelin star rating by being awarded three stars. Run by Rasmus Kofoed, the restaurant is said to be taking Nordic cuisine in an exciting new direction. The menu is both a work of art and scientific gastronomy at its best. The tasting menu consists of 25 snacks, dishes and sweets and is paired with a carefully selected wine or juice menu. Their ‘Inspiration Kitchen’ is a creative dining room with an open kitchen and wine cellar that is ideal for private events.
Restaurant Tim Raue has an Asian inspired cuisine served in a characterful setting. The restaurant is No.48 in the Top 50 restaurant list. They offer a variety of menus with flavours including yuzu, wasabi and pomelo. Set near their kitchen is the Krug Table which gives up to ten guests a view of the kitchen. Their private dining space can accommodate up to 30.
One of South Africa’s most famous restaurants, The Test Kitchen is the place to book for innovative flavorful food combinations. The menu includes dishes such as hot smoked trout, buckwheat blini, and watercress velouté or beef sweetbread, asparagus, peas, morel and porcini hollandaise which can be accompanied by a tea or wine pairing. Their awards list is exceptionally lengthy with a wealth of ‘Restaurant of the Year’ titles. The restaurant can be booked for private lunch functions between Wednesday and Saturday.
Three Michelin star Azurmendi is not only a leader in gastronomy but also sustainability. They offer two gastronomic experiences; the Adarrak (the branches) and Erroak (the roots) which present an experience for all five senses including fermented apple or spiced cornetto. The restaurant has been designed to be a nod to its Basque setting and they have installed advance technology to support their sustainable credentials including producing renewable energy, electric vehicles and a fruit and vegetable garden to reduce food miles. They have a variety of spaces that can be booked for events including their event hall with capacity for 550 or their private hall for 40.
Nahm is one of Asia’s top restaurants and in 2017 was awarded its first Michelin star. Housed in the Como Metropolitan Hotel, the chef Pim Techamuanvivit wants diners to feel like they’re dining in the home of sophisticated Thai friends. The dishes include rare ingredients from across Thailand including a coconut and turmeric blue swimmer crab curry with calamansi lime. Their elegant dining room is the perfect place to enjoy their street food style cuisine away from the bustling streets of Bangkok.
Set in the stunning Devon landscape, Gidleigh Park’s restaurant is headed up by Executive Chef, Chris Simpson. Their menus are matched by their outstanding cellar accommodating over 13,000 bottles from across the world. The venue offers the ideal setting for a corporate retreat from its seven course tasting menu, golf course, tennis courts and spectacular local walking trails across Dartmoor. Run by the world- renowned chef Heston Blumenthal, he has led the restaurant to receive multiple awards and its second Michelin star. The restaurant is influenced by Heston’s interest in historic gastronomy. Expect a quirky menu of dishes that include lobster and cucumber soup (c.1730), spiced squab pigeon (c.1780) or cod in cider (c.1940). Villa Joya is a double Michelin star restaurant on the Algarve. The menu is full of fresh and local ingredients and you can expect dishes such as guinea fowl stuffed with black truffles and artichokes, or dried and salted cod, confited and paired with beetroot coulis and yogurt. Set in the stunning Puglia region, La Sommità is a 5 star hotel in a historic 16th century residence. The hotel has 15 bedrooms, therefore working perfectly for a small team retreat or conference. Their one Michelin star restaurant is housed in a spectacular setting, with the summer months allowing for service in the Spanish Garden with orange and olive trees. La Sommità Relais, with its large halls, terraces and gardens, is the perfect venue for corporate events with the halls housing up to 70 people and the outdoor areas up to 100.
A modern restaurant, set in a 16th century townhouse, is set over four levels including a roof terrace and two private dining rooms. Guests can dine in the intimate main dining room with views over the Tuscan hills. Headed up by Chef Gaetano Trovato, his cooking focuses on local produce, with influences from Siena and Tuscany . Fusing unusual flavor combinations diners can expect to see on the menu dishes such as ravioli, pork, leek and liquorice or golden apples, extra virgin olive oil and whiskey. The entire house can be booked exclusively (including their four bedrooms) or the rooms booked individually. Their terrace makes a stunning setting for a welcome drink!
One of Madrid’s most prestigious restaurants, El Club Allard is situated in an opulent building with multiple rooms for private events. Headed up by Chef José Carlos Fuentes, the restaurant received its second Michelin star in 2011. Offering two gourmet tasting menus, the dishes include oysters with beurre blanc and pinenuts or tuna with soy mayonnaise and mountain tomato compote. Their range of characterful event spaces are perfect for drinks receptions, meetings or corporate celebrations.
The renowned seafood chef Nathan Outlaw has expanded his empire to Dubai with a restaurant in the Burj Al Arab. Diners can expect the freshest seafood on the menu from fisherman’s stew to scallops baked in the shell to oyster ceviche. The Burj Al Arab Jumeirah has multiple event spaces including the Palm Garden for 100 guests, to the Suha boardroom for 32 guests.
To sample the best of Catalan cuisine, El Motel is an excellent destination. With a meeting space, and a terrace guests can enjoy a welcome drink with spectacular views and a dinner to match. The menu is refined but not overly fussy, with dishes such as pork’s trotter with pine nuts or suckling lamb with rosemary.
Boasting a spectacular skyline, Felix is located on the 28th floor of the Peninsula Tower. The restaurant serves modern European cuisine such as Japanese beef tenderloin, duck liver mousse or French chicken breast ballotine. The Peninsula Tower has multiple event spaces from the opulent Salisbury Room for a 300 person reception or the elegant Nathan room for 80 theater style.
Whilst the restaurant’s name might not elude to the fine-dining molecular cuisine it offers, the Funky Gourmet gives Greek cuisine a makeover. The menu is playful with dish names such as ‘find the truffle’ or ‘fire logs’ contributing towards their second Michelin star in 2014. The venue is well suited for business meetings with inbuilt AV, and space for 16. The first floor of the restaurant can accommodate 30 for a private event.
