It’s been quite a ride in the last couple of weeks, if you ask me!
Even though our teams here at American Express Meetings & Events and Banks Sadler are creative in adapting to new situations – not being able to enjoy daily established routines and habits and being forced to stay indoors has certainly been a challenge.
Nevertheless, it’s important to keep our spirits high, so why not to give yourself a favour? Yes, you heard me right, go ahead and give yourself a favour to get through this until we go back to our hectic lives again and maybe end up wishing for a break once again.
Give yourself permission to relax and recharge
We are all allowed some time off. Being in such a constantly changing and spinning industry like meetings and events, we tend to build a habit of always being on the run. Well, today is a day when you should take advantage of this time and recharge your batteries fully. Enjoy that coffee or tea in your garden or balcony and just breathe. Read a book, or leaf through your favourite magazine, and give yourself time to truly relax.
No uncomfortable clothes, no constantly buzzing phone or emails, where each is marked as urgent and no stress that you will miss a deadline.
We will be back to this ever-spinning wheel before long so enjoy this quieter time whilst you have it. Now for another coffee…..
Keep in touch
Are you one of those Londoners that kept telling everyone including yourself, ‘I am too busy to meet, ‘I am too busy to call’ always followed by, ‘I promise, next time’?
Time is all we have now. Why not reconnect with your friends and family and enjoy chats that in turn will make brilliant memories. We all prefer the personal touch, so why not taking advantage of the great technology we have in place and go for it.
After all, healthy personal relationships can only lead to healthy working ones!
Have you got those annoying tasks that were on your to do list about five months ago and miraculously disappeared? It’s probably still at the back of your mind, worrying you occasionally but still continually getting brushed away once again.
Take this time and get these tasks done. Go ahead and re-organise your cupboards, which will probably count also as a workout! Clear your emails, clear your files, clear everything you ever thought would be great to clear and just get it out of your way for once and for all.
Tough times come and go but if you set your mindset right and take advantage of these tough times you can’t help but come out of this stronger and ready to rock the world again!
