Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager is responsible for the successful sales of Event Services solutions to prospective clients and to American Express Business Travel & Card clients.
The candidate will insure proper pipeline development, key account and win strategies to maintain effective pipeline in support of meeting or exceeding sales target in current and future years.
Role will also interface effectively with the M&E leadership and operational teams to insure profitability and continuous and successful synergies between our complete value, positioning to prospects in the sales process and effective post-sale delivery.
The Business Development Manager will utilize strong collaborative and relationship building skills to leverage his own network but also the channel resources of multiple internal resources, such as Client Management and Business Travel/Card Sales to grow pipeline and increase selling opportunity.
The role will be reporting into the Head of Business Development.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering new business opportunities in line with set targets
- Contribution towards the profitability of the company by focusing on high revenue generating opportunities
- Maintain a client pipeline and adopt a creative sales approach to engage prospects throughout the sales lifecycle
- Work alongside internal teams to produce quality pitch responses to win new business
- Support the brainstorming process to create solutions that wow our clients
- Assess pitch opportunities with the Head of Business Development
- Oversee pitch content and delivery
- Participate at industry and networking events
- Monitor and improve conversion rates for proposals and pitches
- Where required work alongside the heads of departments to support with RFP activity
- Research and communicate best practice and new ideas for creative production and events to the rest of the business
- Provide visibility of activity to the business through reporting and CRM utilisation
- Previous experience selling meeting & events, preferably with a background in this field
- Proven success in new business and revenue growth
- Strong internal collaboration and communication skills
- Dynamic and enthusiastic team player with good communication skills
- Excellent client communication and presentation skills
- Strong events background and experience of working with a range of industry sectors
- Creative portfolio
- Strong budgeting skills and pricing knowledge
- Ability to drive and pitch creative concepts
