This month, our Banks Sadler Wellness Team delivered ‘Our Minds Matter’, a week-long programme designed to cultivate a supportive, safe space where we could begin to discuss, understand and support our employees’ mental health.
The programme was inclusive of our entire UK workforce, including American Express Global Business Travel, for over 1,200 employees.
Over five days we covered themes including self-confidence, releasing stress and the power of positivity, with live streamed seminars and virtual sessions featuring various key speakers from self-celebration coach, Sarah Powell, to stress expert and psychologist, Dr. Sergio Hernandez.
Kits were given to each employee at the start of the week which featured aromatherapy oils, motivational postcards and locals offers, whilst prize draws featured goodies from Department Store for the Mind.
Each office additionally adopted a ‘safe space’ mentality whilst hosting their own activities and workshops, encouraging our employees to take time for themselves during their lunch breaks and begin conversations around mental health.
In York, our run club took to the streets of the city, whilst in Leicester, teams took part in meditation sessions and craft-ernoons. London also got arty and active, with a Bob Ross paint-a-long workshop showcasing our inner artists, as well as yoga at The Lodge and a bespoke Bootcamp session.
Following the success of Our Minds Matter and the importance of mental health in the workplace, our Wellness Team have begun curating a calendar of content for our employee’s, which began with supporting World Mental Health Day on October 10th.
